ANNOUNCEMENTS:
  • Volunteers are needed Friday afternoons from 1:45 to 2:40 to distribute backpacks. This is a fun job, receiving smiles from kids who are taking home food for the weekend.

  • Enjoy dinner with the GSE Team on Thursday night, April 9th at McGraw's. Cost is $22.00 per person. Make your reservations with JACK KELLEY or GREGG DONAT by April 5th. Drivers are also needed to transport team members around town.

  • District Conference is May 1 and 2 at the Sheraton at Keystone at the Crossing. Registration forms are available at the District website.

  • The Family of Rotary Committee warmly invites you and your guest to tour the brewing facilities at The Lafayette Brewing Company on Thursday, April 2, at 5:30 p.m. The tour will last 30 – 45 minutes. Appetizers will be provided by Family of Rotary prior to the tour and you may purchase beverages. Following the tour those wishing to may stay for dinner (at member expense). Sign up by contacting PAT COREY at pcorey@ivytech.edu Event limited to 30 persons.

  • There is a RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) event at Camp Tecumseh on Saturday, March 21st. They need mentors between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and are especially in need of women or minority owned business representatives.

  • SUSAN HYCHKA, Minutes for Membership Chair, asked each table to list at least 5 names who should be Rotarians. The Membership Committee will follow- up. Several good names were suggested.

Highlights from this month's Board Meetings:
  • There was a presentation by RICHARD BARTHOLOMEW, President of the Lafayette Rotary Club Foundation, to explain the formula used to figure the amount of funds the Foundation gives to the Club each year.

  • Recommendations from the Governance Committee, presented by JIM KLUSMAN, chair, regarding Incorporation and a job description for the Secretary were accepted.

  • The Lafayette Rotary Club Foundation agreed upon a name for the "Bequest Society" and will roll it out at the April 28th meeting.
