CLUB CONCERNS:
PRESIDENT ROB asked us to keep the following in our thoughts and prayers: BOB BROCK, ROY WHISTLER and former Rotarian Bill Pape.
VOCATIONAL FOCUS:

MAURI WILLIAMSON, past President of this Rotary Club, gave us his genealogy related to his vocation - farming. The Williamson family came from England; went west to Illinois; then east to western Indiana and finally to Wayne County, IN. MAURI'S grandfather amassed 1,000 acres. Mauri served in the Navy during WWII, graduated from Purdue and became Executive Director of the Purdue Agricultural Alumni Association. His son still farms the family holdings in Wayne County. He ended with the poem "Dividends" by Tramp Starr.

PROGRAM:

CHRISTA KECK introduced our own Rotarian, TERRY WEST, who helped us sort out the complexities of the rumpled Lindberg Road. He said that expansion of the existing road over a marsh has resulted in intriguing engineering problems since its completion. Failures related to testing, earthwork placement, and installation of a subgrade mat to connect the pilings, have resulted in a washboard road. TERRY reviewed the construction timetable and contractors, concluding an interesting program with lessons learned and possible solutions.
