CLUB CONCERNS:
PRESIDENT ROB asked us to keep the following in our thoughts and prayers: BOB BROCK, ROY WHISTLER and former Rotarian Bill Pape.

PROGRAM:

Today's Club Assembly focused on International Projects was led by JACK KELLEY, who introduced the other two Board Members involved in these projects: TOM FREY and BARB REIF. Signature projects are the water wells in Haiti and a Children's Burn Hospital in El Salvador. Other projects include: Polio Eradication and Group Study Exchange. Committee Chairs reports:

JIM TURLEY explained how The Rotary Foundation works.

TERRY WEST reviewed the Ambassadorial Scholars Committee and invited interested members to contact him.

BILL FULLER explained how our club might become involved in The Partners of the Americas. See more at:

KEVEN JENNINGS reminded us of the work Rotary does in Eliminating Polio and the $100 Million Challenge Grant from the Gates Foundation.

JACK KELLEY announced that the next GSE Team from African countries should be here April 5 - 9. He had photos of the 5 water wells near schools in Haiti, which we provided through a Matching Grant. The Rotary 3-H Grant for a Children's Burn Hospital involves the Carmel and Daybreak Clubs in addition to our own. It is a $350,000 project to reduce the 30% mortality rate in children due to burns. There was a suggestion from some members that we could be more "hands on". Anyone wishing to participate in International Projects should contact the Board members involved in these projects.
