ANNOUNCEMENTS:
  • BRYAN METZGER, chair of the Salvation Army committee, reported that the Kettles produced $5,272.81 last Saturday. Checks from 64 Rotarians amount to another $6,505.00, totaling $11,777.81. This gives us room to improve to meet the totals from past years. It is not too late to write checks. Make yours payable to The Lafayette Rotary Club Foundation and write Salvation Army in the memo line. Bring it to a meeting or mail it to JANE.

  • PAT COREY announced that on December 30th the program/entertainment will be Magician Marc Lehmann. Be sure to bring your spouse, children and grandchildren for this special family meeting.

  • PAT also alerted the Euchre players that the next party is January 3rd at the LETA and JACK KELLEY'S house. Contact LETA is you can join the fun.

  • CYNTHIA HARDING, chair of the Red Cross Children's Christmas project, thanked all who participated. It will be a Merrier Christmas for 10 children due to your generosity.

  • LETA KELLEY, standing in for BECKY ROBLEDO, reminded us that volunteers are needed on Thursdays to pack Backpacks.

  • The Membership Committee has produced a beautiful brochure to be given to prospective new members. Thanks to ARVID OLSON and his committee!

  • PAST PRESIDENT DAN HEMAN says that if charitable deductions are important to your tax return, now is the time to contribute to The Rotary Foundation. With about $500 left in the matching funds, you can receive a deduction and double your gift to the work of Rotary worldwide. Our current contribution to Every Rotarian Every Year is $42.50 per member, toward a goal of $100 per member. Rotary would also like for each member to contribute something if $100 is out of reach.
