EULOGY:

TOM PEARSON presented an interesting and moving eulogy for his colleague and fellow Rotarian, RAY KAVANAUGH, who embodied the Spirit of Service.

WELCOME NEW MEMBER:

PROGRAM:

STEVE THOMPSON thanked JAYNE FEATHERS for arranging for today's speaker. He then introduced Dave Miner, a Purdue grad and Eli Lilly employee for many years. Now retired, he is involved with Bread for the World, a Christian organization that strives to eliminate hunger. One billion people around the world live on one Dollar a day or less and spend 70% of that on food. There is enough food to go around, but the poor can't afford to buy it. Bread for the World with a membership of about 60,000 is an advocacy group that speaks for the hungry. Progress is slow, but their efforts are successful. Miner and the group believe we can end hunger in our time.

BARB REIF introduced Rebecca Jones and Gregor Siegmund from West Lafayette High School. Each received a certificate and a travel mug with the 4- Way Test to commemorate meeting with us today.
