CLUB CONCERNS:

PRESIDENT ROB asked us to keep the following in our thoughts and prayers: BOB BROCK, ROY WHISTLER, and REX KEPLER.

PROGRAM:

Burke Painter Versyp

The Basketball Coaches from Harrison, McCutcheon and West Lafayette High Schools were introduced, followed by Morgan Burke, Purdue Athletic Director. Morgan gave us the busy schedule for Purdue athletics for the next two weeks, which includes Mackey Madness, a volleyball game and Homecoming week. He introduced Matt Painter and Sharon Versyp saying it is Purdue's good fortune to have former Purdue athletes as coaches.

Matt Painter, Head Men's Basketball Coach, is excited about the upcoming season. A good schedule, good carry-over in the program and improving skills of the team make him optimistic that next March will find the team playing championship games.

Sharon Versyp, head Women's Basketball Coach, thanked the high school coaches for preparing athletes for college level teams. She also mentioned that there is a Russian player on her team and welcomed the Russian lawyers. After a review of the past two years, Versyp feels all the pieces of the puzzle are in place this year - depth - experience - talent. The intensity level will increase. She invited to watch this team play a different style of basketball this year .
