CHRISTA KECK introduced John Dennis, Mayor of West Lafayette. This native of Lafayette is proud of the agreement reached between the city and the West Lafayette Schools to use funds in TIF savings accounts to loan $1 Million to the School Corporation. This is a first in the State and sets a good precedent. State rules make it difficult for municipalities to raise revenue. The City budget will not grow -- in fact, it is smaller. They are doing more with less; being more efficient; eliminating redundancies. Rising fuel costs are being offset by cutting in other areas. He went through several road projects including the Lindberg Bridge, Cumberland Avenue resurfacing, Salisbury Street repairs, Yeager Road expansion and the 231 ByPass. Several good questions were asked and members stayed after the meeting to discuss city issues.

PAT COREY introduced Clay Taylor and Chris Burkhardt from Ivy Tech Community College. Each received a certificate and a travel mug with the Four- Way Test to commemorate meeting with us.
