TOM MORAN, chair of the Gus Macker Committee, says six volunteers are
needed for Saturday morning registration. Please contact him or sign up on line.
So far we have 265 teams participating. To support the local teams who need
assistance, write your check for $116 payable to the Lafayette Rotary Club
Foundation.

LETA KELLEY invites us to help pack backpacks every Thursday at 5:30. It only
takes about 45 minutes, is fun and provides make-up credit! Volunteers are also
needed on Friday at 1:50 to distribute the backpacks.

JAYNE FEATHERS reminds us that people need to have security checks to work
at Miami School. The forms are available from at the back table with instructions
on how they need to be submitted. There is no fee.

MIKE PIGGOTT reminded us that DeTrash the Wabash is this Friday,
September 19th at 4:00. A team consisting of the two Rotary clubs, Rotaract
and the Women's Basketball players will have a great time while cleaning up the
banks of the Wabash. Contact MIKE if you can help.

JEANNE NORBERG reported on the Club and Foundation Board meetings. She
also reported that the goal of raising $6,000 for perishable foods for the backpack
recipients has been reached. Club members have contributed $2,100; the
District Grant produced $2,000 and Payless Supermarket near Tippecanoe Mall
has given us a $2,000 grant. This grant is in addition to the voucher program
Payless has agreed to manage. Rotarians are encouraged to be present at the a
7:30 a.m. announcement and celebration of the Payless grant on Wednesday
September 24th at 2513 Maple Point Drive just off IN 38.
