CLUB CONCERNS:

PRESIDENT ROB asked us to keep the following in our thoughts and prayers: BOB BROCK, ROY WHISTLER, and RAY KAVANAUGH. Our sympathy to DAN TEDER and all the family and friends of LAWRENCE TEDER who died last week. A Eulogy will be presented next week.

BIRTHDAY TABLE:

JOHN CARPENTER introduced sixteen Rotarians celebrating a birthday this month and announced the so far $1,066 has been collected for the foundations. We sang Happy Birthday in appreciation!

PROGRAM:

PRESIDENT ELECT CHRISTA KECK introduced fellow Rotarian TATJANA JEVREMOVIC, who grew up in Belgrade, received her PhD in Japan in Nuclear Engineering, and came to Purdue in 2001 to lead the Breast Cancer Research project among other duties. The statistics show that the most common cancer in women is breast cancer. The risk increases with age with white women having the highest rate. One in eight women will have breast cancer. She defined breast cancer, therapies, types of cancers and classifications of cancers. Japan and Argentina are showing very promising results with a therapy called Boron Neutron Capture. Breast cancer receives the most funding of the "big" cancers. We are thankful for that funding and for "Dr. J's" work in the field.

STUDENT GUESTS:
