ANNOUNCEMENTS:
  • PRESIDENT ROB reminded us that on September 9th, District Governor TOM FISHER will visit our club. Wear your Rotary pin! Board members and Committee chairs will meet with him at 10:15 in the Tailgate Lounge.

  • JACK KELLEY needs two more host families for the Open World program, which brings Russian law enforcement officials to this country to see how our system works. The group will be here from Tuesday, October 14 to Saturday, October 18. If you can help, please contact JACK this week.

  • TOM MORAN reminded us that there only two weeks remain till the Gus Macker Tournament! Sign up to help with registration on Friday evening and Saturday morning. Also, more team scholarships are needed. Several local teams are forming from the social service centers. They can afford only half of the fee. Please write your check for $116 to the Lafayette Rotary Club Foundation.

  • LETA KELLEY invites us to help pack backpacks every Thursday. It only takes about 45 minutes, is fun and provides make-up credit!

  • JAYNE FEATHERS reminds us that people need to have security checks to work at Miami School. The forms are available from at the back table with instructions on how they need to be submitted. There is no fee.

  • CYNTHIA HARDING, chair of the Youth Committee, asked for members interested in mentoring a Rotaract student to contact her. This is a wonderful way to connect with a Purdue Student who shares our motto of "Service Above Self"!

THANK YOU:
Lafayette Rotary Club:
When you are sick, it is such a comfort to know so many people are wishing you well. Thank you for the planter. It really lifted my spirits. I am home after 7 days in Home Hospital. Still have some follow-up treatment, but each day is an improvement.
Thank you,
Don Gentry
