CLUB CONCERNS:
PRESIDENT ROB asked us to keep the following in our thoughts and prayers: BOB BROCK, ROY WHISTLER, RAY KAVANAUGH. It was wonderful to have AL CHISCON back with us today.
VOCATIONAL FOCUS:

ARVID OLSON has had several interesting careers, each building on the past to make him more than qualified in his position with Faith Baptist Church. He learned from his father the importance of clear communication and compelling statements. Using this and his many other gifts, he has helped Faith Baptist grow and serve the community in several ways. His mission to serve the church, community and God mirrors Rotary's mission of "Service Above Self".

PROGRAM:

ROB introduced Richard Mattes, professor, foods and nutrition at Purdue, whose topic was "Trusting Your Senses". His focus was on the chemical senses, i.e., taste, smell and irritation. He conducted several experiments with the group and ended by telling us that perception is reality. BILL FULLER sums it all up very well with these words:

O, smell is a very fine sense,
For Folks, it helps with attraction,
With food its help so immense,
Comes from retro-nasal-olfaction.

GUESTS:

Nelson DeLaVergne, guest of OSCAR HOPKINS; Adam Luhman, son of DAVE LUHMAN; Jenna Roe, guest of PAT COREY
