CONGRATULATIONS:

PDG JERRY ERSKINE presented PDG BILL HATFIELD with the Major Donor Crystal and Pin, signifying that BILL has reached the first level of Major Donor by giving $10,000 to The Rotary Foundation. This is a very special commitment to the world of Rotary. BILL encouraged the rest of us to join him!

THANK YOUS:

PRESIDENT JOHN'S "Thank you for caring a whole awful lot" plaque went to TOM FREY for his work on International Projects and JIM TURLEY for chairing the Rotary Foundation committee and past leadership. Congratulations!

PROGRAM:

JEFF DARLING, chair of the Vocational Scholarship Committee, congratulated the recipients of The Lafayette Rotary Club Scholarship saying that the committee received a record number of applications this year and thanked BETTY DOVERSBERGER, DICK RAHDERT, ED HEMMER, MARIELLEN NEUDECK, SUSAN HYCHKA and PAT BAUGH who, in honor of BUD, contributed substantial funds to add 6 additional scholarships to the 4 the Club had budgeted. He introduced "Daisy" Valerie Barrett by reading her essay describing how the scholarship would help her to achieve her goal. Daisy then thanked the club. ED HEMMER read the essay by Holly McIntire, who was unable to attend today. DICK RAHDERT summed up the activities and attributes of Ryan Woolard, who graciously accepted the award. JAN GRIFFIN KOEHLER introduced us to Jessica Dunwoody and presented her with the Scholarship. NATE BARRETT read excerpts from Tekisha Moffitt's essay and a letter from Home with Hope. We were inspired by the effort each of these students has made to overcome adversity and reach their goals.

LIZ SOLBERG introduced Kathleen Reed and Brian Chelius from Central Catholic High School. Each received a certificate and a travel mug with the Four-Way Test to commemorate meeting with us.
