THANK YOU:

PROGRAM:

President and past president of the Lafayette Rotary Foundation, RICHARD BARTHOLOMEW and DAVE LUHMAN, gave us a fast lesson on Charitable Donations. Using his considerable communication skills, RICHARD talked about the tax advantages of giving to your favorite cause. He illustrated his remarks with stories of what can't be considered a tax write-off. DAVE talked about the pitfalls of a poorly written will, using such famous examples as Richard Nixon and Leona Helmsley. They reminded us that Uncle Sam wants us to give to charities, but refrained from DAVE having to give the shirt off his back. This time there was a pair of shorts from RICHARD. You had to be there...

STUDENT GUESTS:

LEW RUNNELS introduced Jennifer Strasser and Brian Wolpert from Jefferson High School. Each received a certificate and a travel mug with the Four-Way Test to commemorate meeting with us.

PRESIDENT JOHN'S THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK:

Norman Macewan: Happiness is not so much in having as sharing. We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.

Now, keep serving Rotary, our community and the world
