PROGRAM:

ROB GALBRAITH introduced Samantha Blackmon, an assistant professor at Purdue, who expanded the Club's vocabulary. She explained the Web 2.0, a term coined in 2005 to describe connecting devises, people and ideas, is social computing for real people. Web 1.0 was about commerce. Web 2.0 is about people.

 A quick definition of terms:

RAVERLY an on line crafters community
FORUMS discussion lists
BLOGS short for weblog, it is used by individuals promoting and sharing themselves and their interests Community or Group Blogs are used by large numbers of people sharing ideas on a subject.
TWITTER POP-UPS web application that frequently asks, "What are you doing?" It is a way to learn the news before it is broadcast.

Samantha's presentation generated several good questions, mostly related to wondering why anyone would want all of this!
