PROGRAM:

SUSAN HYCHKA introduced KARENA BIERMAN, Director of Planned and Major Gifts, for The Rotary Foundation. After practicing law in downtown Chicago for four years KARENA let her heart lead her to Rotary International. She described some of the ways the Rotary Foundation provides hope for the next generation around the world. And in three southern states hit by hurricanes Katrina and Rita the 4-Way Test and Service Above Self are well known because twenty million Dollars were sent by Rotary to help. KARENA reviewed the Annual Fund's programs and then her role in building the Permanent Fund formed in 1982 to last forever to support programs funded by the Annual Funds. There are many ways to give to this fund. She encouraged us to include Rotary in our estate planning to make sure what touches your heart continues into the future.
