ANNOUNCEMENTS:
  • Plan to join the Rotarian crew filling Christmas boxes at the YWCA on Friday, December 14th at 9am. This is always a fun service project.

  • ROB GALBRAITH reminded us that through our Youth committee Rotary is participating for the first time in the American Red Cross Christmas gifting to hildren. There are two ways you can be personally involved. First, you can get a child's name and information to purchase one complete outfit and a toy for them. This costs around $30-$50. You would bring your purchases to Rotary up to and including the December 11th meeting. The second way you can participate is by contributing to the Lafayette Rotary Foundation and putting this program note on your check. The committee will then do the shopping for you. This is an exciting new program to be involved in and is the only Christmas some of these children will receive. Contact CYNTHIA HARDING or call her at (428-8910) for more information or to get a name. There will also be an announcement at next week's Rotary meeting.

  • Mark your calendar! There will be a Holiday Reception from 4 – 8 P.M. on Sunday, December 16th at JANE TURNER'S home. This will also serve as the New Member Reception. Sponsors, New Members, Old Members, Spouses – Everybody come.

  • CAROLINE BRIGGS from Daybreak Rotary Club introduced Dr. JEAN PHILIPPE RONDEAU, a member of the San Salvador Rotary Club. He gave us an update on our matching grant project with his club to provide two water wells, supplies for an orphanage and school and a burn unit at the children's hospital.
