CLUB CONCERNS:
PRESIDENT JOHN asked us to keep the following in our thoughts and prayers: BOB BROCK, JIM SMITH, ROY WHISTLER
CONGRATULATIONS:

PRESIDENT JOHN presented ELSON ORTMAN with a Golden Service certificate honoring his contribution of $1,000 or more to the Lafayette Rotary Foundation.

PROGRAM:

FRITZ COHEN introduced Kathy Wright-Eger and Dan Ross, coaches of the Purdue swim teams. Kathy, head coach for 21 years, loves her job and has high expectations. She has 14 full ride scholarships to use as motivation and reward for excellence. The new six-year-old pool makes a big difference in performance. Swimming is a tough sport. The schedule is demanding and you can't chit-chat with your head in the water. She underscored the well-rounded nature of her team by volunteering them to help us ring the bell for Salvation Army (which drew a round of applause!).

Dan Ross says communication is the key to life. He and Kathy make a big effort to develop ethical standards in the athletes. Both are proud of their accomplishments and longevity at Purdue.

PAT COREY introduced Ed Smith from Ivy Tech Community College. He received a certificate and a travel mug with the four-way test to commemorate meeting with us.
