PRESIDENT JOHN'S "Thank you for caring a whole awful lot" plaque went to JIM KLUSMAN for his work on the Planning Committee and extra hard work chairing our Gus Macker fund raiser. Congratulations!

PROGRAM:

ROB GALBRAITH introduced Dave Murtaugh, U.S. Marshall who was confirmed by the U. S. Senate on February 14, 2002. The 218 year-old Marshall service is part of the Department of Justice with headquarters in Arlington, VA. Duties include protecting federal judges, performing threat assessment and courthouse security assessment; protect the Drug Czar and Deputy Attorney General; witness security program; fugitive extraditions outside the U .S.; asset forfeiture program; and more. Several members had good questions including one related to his job security. Since he has been a guest speaker in the past and has received one of our Rotary Wheels, he requested a $10 donation be made to the Lafayette Rotary Foundation.

FRED KUIPERS introduced Claire Dalder and Joshua Smith from Harrison High School. Each received a certificate and a travel mug with the four-way test to commemorate meeting with us.
