BIRTHDAY TABLE:

TOM PEARSON honored three of the 27 members celebrating a birthday this month for more than 40 years of service to Rotary - BOB HANNEMANN with 42 years, FRITZ COHEN with 41 years, and KIRK CLARK with 40 Years. This generous group contributed $2,640 to our foundations. We celebrated by singing Happy Birthday.

CONGRATULATIONS:

JO WADE (right) was this week's recipient of JOHN SANDERSON'S special Thank You Plaque.

RICK SCHWARZ (below) received a certificate recognizing his contribution to the Lafayette Rotary Foundation at the Golden Service Level (at least $1,000).

SPECIAL PRESENTATION:

DAVE LAHR presented a check in the amount of $25,000 to Trisch Brutis, Community Initiatives Coordinator, Community and Family Resource Center, as our part in the CAPE Grant project supported by the Lilly Foundation to provide a playground for 0 - 3 year olds and education for their parents at Washington School.

PROGRAM:

ROB GALBRAITH introduced Aura Lee Emsweller, Executive Director of Duncan Hall at 615 Ferry Street. She presented interesting history of the organization and building, including biographical data about Thomas Duncan. One of the programs of Duncan Hall is to teach manners to children. Aura Lee ran through the high points of "Music and Manners"; delighting us with the importance of manners and the music that helps the children remember theirs.
