CLUB CONCERNS:

VICE PRESIDENT ROB asked us to keep the following in our thoughts and prayers: BOB BROCK; CHRIS JOHANNSEN, who is recovering from surgery; JAN GRIFFIN KOEHLER, who is having a treatment that she postponed while serving as our President; and DICK WALKER, whose wife passed away.

VOCATIONAL MOMENT:

JAYNE FEATHERS came to Lafayette from Ohio. This proud Buckeye was able to combine her aptitude for numbers with her people skills to lead several organizations. She was also President of her Rotary Club there. Marriage to Ron Feathers and a move to Lafayette changed her life. She calls herself "A Person in Process", finding new purpose and learning a higher power is really the planner. PROGRAM:

JIM HANKS introduced our own JOHN WALLING, who is president of NCHS. NCHS is a medical services organization founded in 1984 with Dave Howarth as it's first President. MARIELLEN NEUDECK holds the chair currently. The assets of NCHS are used for capital grants to help the area the company serves. Two ambulatory surgery centers are owned by NCHS. It has created three Not For Profit organizations: Wabash River Enhancement Corporation, Parish Nursing, and Shared Enterprise Management Corp. The Howarth Center at 18th Street and Union Street, a 45,000 square foot facility, houses six human service organizations, each paying Shared Enterprise Management for the space. A similar facility is planned for Carroll County in an effort to increase the efficiency and long-term viability of the organizations that participate. NCHS tries to create opportunities.
