PRESIDENT JOHN asked us to keep the following in our thoughts and prayers: BOB BROCK; BILL FULLER who is recovering from a fall.
ARVID OLSON, Director of Development at Faith Baptist Church, presented a program entitled Getting to a Better Place, Together. This past weekend the church opened a $9 Million Community Center, which is open to all citizens. Faith Ministries, which has experienced tremendous growth, has a long-standing commitment to the community and a desire to give back. A serious survey pointed to community needs east of I-65. The church matched its assets and talents with the needs and came up with a building that provides space for many diverse activities. There are meeting rooms, a gymnasium, a skate park, an indoor walking track, a fitness center, a zero entry pool, a youth room, a multipurpose room, a cafe, a food and clothing pantry and a pre-school. Five staff members and a host of volunteers coordinate the activities. It is easy to see why ARVID is so enthusiastic about the project! GUESTS:
Janet Broyles, guest of DAN HEMAN; Joe Bonner, guest of JIM CARNEY; Kelly,
Alejandra and Thalia May, daughter and granddaughters of CHARLOTTE
HOWELLS.
