LEW RUNNELS introduced members celebrating birthdays in June and announced that so far $1,719 has been received from them. A round of "Happy Birthday" was sung to thank his generous group!

PROGRAM:

JOHN SANDERSON introduced Robert Novak, Department Head and Clinical Professor, Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences, who spoke to us about the endemic noise in our society and how it damages our hearing. Because of all of the noise, there are old ears in young bodies. Since this is preventable, it has become a public health issue. There are limits to the daily dose of noise. We should know the limits and use earplugs.
