ANNOUNCEMENTS:

JIM KLUSMAN announced that the trailer for Gus Macker (a trailer with a
basketball hoop mounted on it and our name painted on the side, billboard style)
is in the parking lot today for your inspection. It will be used at the Faith Baptist
Church Fair on May 18th from 3 - 9 P.M. Volunteers are needed to assist with
the free throw contest. Contact OSCAR HOPKINS. Also, if you know of a high
visibility location where the trailer could sit on a Saturday to advertise our event,
please let JIM or OSCAR know.
-
Calling all past presidents! A past president's pin was found at University Inn
three weeks ago. The back is missing, which means it silently fell off of your
jacket. Please check and let JAN or JANE know if it is yours.
-
JAN relayed the information that the Council on Legislation (500 representatives
of Rotary Clubs from all over the world which meets every three years) has
ended with some interesting proposals. To see the results, go to rotary.org and
look for the link to meetings.
-
There is still time to help JAN meet the goal of 100% participation for Every
Rotarian Every Year. Most of the clubs at the District Conference had 100% of
their members contributing something to The Rotary Foundation. If $100 is out
of your reach, whatever you can afford will be appreciated.
-
TREASURER ELSA JANLE reminds everyone that dues are now one week past
due. If you have not paid, please get your dues to her immediately to avoid the
possibility of a $60 reinstatement fee.
PROSPECTIVE NEW MEMBER:
Jeff Vitter, sponsored by MARTHA CHISCON, has been approved by the Board
of Directors and if there are no objections, will be introduced soon.
THANK YOU:
To my Rotary friends,
Thank you for having me once again at lunch and for being so kind as to select
me as a scholarship honoree. I truly loved meeting you all again and I think you
for your confidence in my future at the University of Michigan. Perhaps I will
socialize with you all again if I apply for a study abroad scholarship.
Many thanks again,
Erin Carney
P.S. Please express my gratitude towards the kind photographer who offered me
a copy of the photo of all the winners and Representative Buyer.
