CLUB CONCERNS:

PRESIDENT JAN asked us to keep the following in our thoughts and prayers: BOB BROCK; Jerry Neudeck, husband of MARIELLEN NEUDECK.
PROGRAM:

JIM KLUSMAN introduced Scott McNeal, President of Gus Macker. Scott brought along Ryan Vansloten who serves as the Macker mascot when presenting assemblies at schools. The name, Gus Macker, came from a nickname Scott was given as a vertically challenged, driveway basketball player. The organization celebrates the "pick-up game" of basketball with 3 people on a team, one hoop, common players (not superstars). Sports Illustrated covered one very large event at his mother's house, creating nationwide enthusiasn for three on three basketball.

DAVE MC GAW, OSCAR HOPKINS and PAUL POST have presented assemblies to local school while Scott and Ryan are in town. Lafayette's history of Gus Macker events has consistently raised the most money for charity of any events in the country. We have the biggest sponsorships and one of the last events on the tour (September 22 and 23, 2007), making players look forward to one last game before the end of the season. Scott feels we have a perfect combination Rotary and Habitat.

Gus Macker emphasizes sportsmanship, health (fighting obesity) and family fun.
STUDENT GUESTS:

RAY PEETERS introduced Whitney and Brian Howard from McCutcheon High School. Each received a certificate and a travel mug with the four-way test to commemorate meeting with us.
