CLUB CONCERNS:

PRESIDENT JAN asked us to keep the following in our thoughts and prayers: BOB BROCK and FAYE COLE who will have surgery this month.
PROGRAM:

JOHN SANDERSON introduced Dan Hirleman, William E. and Florence E. Perry Head of the School of Mechanical Engineering, who explained how laser beams are used to identify light scattering for rapid identification of E. coli, staph, salmonella, vibrio and other food-borne pathogens. He entertained several good questions concerning concentrations of the pathogens, growing medium, and use of the technology as a diagnostic or monitoring tool.
STUDENT GUESTS:

PAUL POST introduced Colin Campbell and Aartie Belachander from West Lafayette High School. Each received a certificate and a travel mug with the four-way test to commemorate meeting with us.
