PRESIDENT SUSAN presented the Rotarian of the Year award to JACK
KELLEY, reminding us of his tireless work on obtaining matching grants and
organizing the Russian judges' visit to our area. Because JACK and LETA are
both in Ota, Japan, participating in a trip to our official "sister city," his plaque will
be presented when he returns to Lafayette.

JAN then introduced guests, Paul Harris Fellows, Golden Service and higher contributors to the Lafayette Rotary Foundation, and new members. She talked about involving families in Rotary the way her family was involved in a service organization while she was growing up and her efforts to involve her children in Rotary activities. Everyone was encouraged to bring family members to meetings and projects and to check up on fellow members we may not have seen for awhile. JAN closed by presenting a bouquet of roses to JANE and another to SUSAN, while reminding us that there will be no meeting on July 4th.
