BARBARA HANSEN introduced the members celebrating a birthday in December and reported that so far the total collected from this generous group is $2,495.00. We showed our appreciation by singing Happy Birthday!
PROGRAM:

DAVE LUHMAN, president of the Lafayette Rotary Foundation, opened the annual meeting of the Lafayette Rotary Foundation. After introducing the Board of Directors and Officers he reviewed the Annual Report. STEVE STUCKY moved with a second by BILL HATFIELD to approve the financial report. Motion carried. DAVE went on to explain how the investment committee has done well with growing the corpus. The Disbursement Formula is based on a three year trailing average of the return on investments. To make life easier for the Club, by using this formula the Foundation has made $18,610.00 available for the Club in 2006/2007.

Four members were recognized for contributions: TOM FREY and PETER KLINE have reached Golden Service (GS) status. TOM PEARSON has reached Golden Service Plus, and STEVE STUCKY (DD) has reached the Double Diamond level. Their gifts are very important in making the Foundation successful. Several ways to support the Foundation were discussed. The program ended when DAVE decided he could sign over his $1,000 life insurance policy, purchased for him by his father shortly after his birth. He knew some paperwork was necessary and would put that on his list "to do". JERRY COLE offered to take care of it for him with the proper piece of paper in his hand. Talk about an efficient Foundation!
