PRESIDENT JAN asked us to keep the following in our thoughts and prayers: BOB BROCK. It was great to see BILL HATFIELD at today's meeting!
JOHN SANDERSON introduced Terry Wilson, President and C.E.O. of Greater Lafayette Health Services, who limited his remarks to five things important to GLHS and the community. Quality - There is the potential to save 100,000 lives through implementation of new systems. Technology - Information Technology is being improved through paperless charts. New Hospital - Construction will begin on Creasy Lane in 2007. Charity - The hospitals cost of caring for patients who can't pay has risen from $6,000,000 in 2004 to over $900,000 in 2007. Medicaid - The state is working to cover more people and spend fewer dollars. A Tobacco tax is being considered to leverage more federal funds. Mr. Wilson left time for several good questions.
