CLUB CONCERNS:

PRESIDENT JAN asked us to keep the following in our thoughts and prayers: BOB BROCK. It was great to see BILL HATFIELD at today's meeting!
PROGRAM:

JOHN SANDERSON introduced Terry Wilson, President and C.E.O. of Greater Lafayette Health Services, who limited his remarks to five things important to GLHS and the community. Quality - There is the potential to save 100,000 lives through implementation of new systems. Technology - Information Technology is being improved through paperless charts. New Hospital - Construction will begin on Creasy Lane in 2007. Charity - The hospitals cost of caring for patients who can't pay has risen from $6,000,000 in 2004 to over $900,000 in 2007. Medicaid - The state is working to cover more people and spend fewer dollars. A Tobacco tax is being considered to leverage more federal funds. Mr. Wilson left time for several good questions.
