CLUB CONCERNS:

PRESIDENT JAN asked us to keep the following in our thoughts and prayers: BOB BROCK; GENE COURTANEY, AL CHISCON; TOM MORAN who had knee surgery Monday.


PROGRAM: Kiwanis' President introduced Purdue Athletic Director Morgan Burke who informed that the fall sports are enjoying a good season so far. As it stands now, the Volleyball and Soccer programs could host the 1st rounds of the NCAA tournaments. Football is 5-3 in the season.

He introduced head Men's basketball coach Matt Painter who talked about the talent the team has and their goals this year. He is pleased with the freshman recruits this year. He left two scholarships open for recruiting next season. He is pleased to have more ball handlers to help free up the shooters. He ended by saying that his wife instructed him to give his talk, but don't sing during the music.

Burke introduced first year Women's basketball coach Sharon Versyp who said that she was excited to be back at Purdue and is pleased with the talent on the team this year. She stressed to the girls that they must play hard on the floor and give back to the community off the floor. She is conducting 3 hour practices at this time to get them is good condition, as there are only 9 girls on the team this year. She invited all to come to games and enjoy the excitement.
