DEEPEST SYMPATHY to BRUCE OWENS and family on the death of spouse/mother, MARGARET R. “PEGGY” OWENS, who died Thursday, May 4, 2000, in Charlotte Regional Medical Center of pneumonia. Most of us were aware of PEGGY’s hard fought 10-year battle with breast cancer. It is best covered by the “JC” noted quote from Rick Hurley, Covenant Presbyterian Church Pastor, who said, “She fought for life as long as she could. When I would visit her, she would always smile. And when I asked her how she was, she would say, ‘I’m gaining on it.’”

CORRESPONDENCE from DALE MC HENRY...JUDY and I appreciate the beautifully flowering azalea plant. Your thoughtfulness is great and I look forward to getting back to Rotary.
