related to Purdue University) - JOHN SANDERSON and LINA REEVES-KERNER (three year terms; and Two Gown Directors (related to Purdue University) - JOHN HUIE and CHRISTA KECK (three-year terms). GENE moved that the slate
be accepted, BOB GRIFFITHS seconded the motion, and the membership approved this action.

CONGRATULATIONS to LEO KLEMME ("Leader" picture) awarded the Personal Financial Specialist designation by The American
Institute of Certified Public Accountants. LEO had to meet six requirements for this designation: a) Passing a technical exam covering the basic areas of personal financial planning; b) Personal
income tax planning; c) Investment planning; d) Retirement planning; and e) Estate and retirement planning. In addition, LEO completed 250 hours of experience per year for three years.

Community Service Projects Committee (Committee) announced – Our Club will again pack and deliver gift boxes for the local Women's Shelter Christmas project,
Date, Time, and place for packing boxes: Friday, December 7, 2001, from 9:00 a.m. to approximately 11:30 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1005 North 21st
Street, Lafayette (NOT at the Women's Shelter as in previous years.) 15 to 17 Rotarian volunteers are needed. Delivery of gift boxes: Saturday, December 8, 2001,
beginning at 12:30 p.m. UNTIL APPROXIMATELY 4:00 P.M. PICKUP POINT IS AT THE HOLY TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH. Volunteers with suitable vehicles (pickups or vans) are still needed – those who have signed–up: ANN PIECHOTA;
GRIFF; and AL and MARTHA CHISCON. High-school volunteers, who will do the heavy lifting, will accompany drivers. A sign-up sheet will be posted. Still need more

PRESIDENT OSCAR introduced GARY SUISMAN, President and Publisher, Journal and Courier (J & C) who in turn introduced Mike
Carmin (with the J & C since 1990 and covers high school sports and beat reporter for Purdue Women's basketball);Tom Kubat (with the J
& C since 1968 and covers high school sports and beat reporter for Purdue football); and Jeff Washburn (with J & C since 1976 and covers high school sports and beat
reporter for Purdue men's basketball). These three plus Jim Stafford, J & C Sports Editor represent 87 years of J & C experience. GARY moderated an interesting Q &
A period involving these three sports reporters and the membership.
