NOTE: Next Tuesday’s agenda is quite full; therefore, President GENE COURTANEY (President GENE), in order to allow a full amount of time to Dr. London, will covene the meeting at 12:00 noon rather than 12:10 p.m., the usual time. Also, should you want to bring a guest to hear Dr. London, please contact GRIFF by 12:00 noon on Monday, January 10th.

CLUB CONCERNS: Prior to the invocation today, President GENE requested members to keep the following in their thoughts and prayers: KEN and LINDA EWING (KEN was back to Rotary today with some aid of a walker - it was good to see him and LINDA continues to deal with cancer); YB HALL who is still in the Westminster Village Health Center working hard on physical therapy - doing okay; BOB HIATT; MARV PHILLIPS who is in a Boston, MA hospital with pneumonia - MARV and BARBARA’s daughter is a physician at this hospital; JOE SICER whose daughter, Mary Moore, to say that JOE suffered a stroke (affected his left side and speech somewhat slurred) on Christmas, was taken to the Lake Placid, FL hospital, did not know how long he might be in the hospital, and suggested that cards and notes should be sent to his home address (FL home address in Directory is not correct): JOE SICER, 449 Lake June Road, Lake Placid, FL 33852-5667; and BEV STONE, who is back at George Davis Manor and would really appreciate cards and notes.

DEEPEST SYMPATHY to the family of EV WRIGHT who died at 11:25 a.m., Saturday, January 1, 2000 at Westminster Village. EV had been a member since 1946-47; was a Past President - 1958-59; did not attend Rotary after November 4, 1997 due to poor health and not being able to hear; at the end of October 1997 had 519 months of 100% attendance, i.e., 43 years and 3 months; and was named an honorary member by the Club Board on December 8, 1997. Over the years EV worked willingly on Rotary committees each year - he was the epitome of Rotary’s motto - “Service Above Self.” DAVID LUHMAN will offer an eulogy to EV at the January 11th Club meeting.
