CORRESPONDENCE from Helen Keller, spouse of Sam...Again, I had the pleasure of being an honored guest at Rotary’s Annual fest with the Purdue Glee Club. It was a delightful evening - the Glee Club members are always an inspiration. Thank you! Rotary was very special for Sam and may their good works continue!

ROTARY FAMILY NEWS: JOHN CARPENTER back at Rotary today after wintering in Naples, FL; good to see JOHN back.

CRAIG IRVINE introduced Merritt McMullen, Director of Sales, Lindblad Special Expeditions, who made a most interesting presentation, with video, explaining the difference between expeditions (aboard comfortable expedition ships, carrying between 30 and 110 guests, equipped with Zodiac landing craft, which enables guests to land in places inaccessible to most travelers) and tours. Expeditions: (1) Brings one up close to the wildlife and cultural sites of a region; (2) Takes one to locations of natural beauty such as Alaska where staff of experts explain the dramatic geology, wildlife, and native cultures and in Europe and the Mediterranean where historians share their knowledge of these ancient lands; (3) Offers a wide choice and level of activities enabling one to select a suitable excursion; (4) Itineraries are flexible to allow opportunity to experience nature’s unplanned events; and (5) Traveling in small groups and using Zodiac landing craft allows one to visit areas inaccessible to larger ships.

GREETER: ERIC MURPHY; Invocation by DICK RAHDERT; sang “Hail Purdue”, led by President BOB, in honor of Purdue Women’s Basketball Team winning NCAA; and Rotary piano by REX KEPLER.
