President's Message
Greetings Camas Washougal Rotarians,
Happy Rotary New Year. It is my privilege and honor to lead our Club for 2021-2022. Thank you for your vote of confidence!
This year’s Rotary Theme is SERVE TO CHANGE LIVES.
Last week at our club meeting your board committee chair people introduced themselves and told us their plans for the year. The theme was to get involved and help us change lives in our communities and the world. Our Club Service Co-Chair, Gayle Thieman has sent around a survey asking all of you what committee you would like to join if you aren’t connected to one already. Please complete the survey and return as soon as possible.
Our Club Fundraiser, Duck Derby will be held in Downtown Camas on September 12th. Please sell your tickets!!! If you need more tickets please contact Randal Friedman or Cindy Forslund.

Oxygen Concentrators for Nepal

In its May meeting, CW Rotary Board approved a $500 participation in an emergency project to supply oxygen concentrators to Nepal for combatting its COVID-19 crisis. This project, led by the Newberg Rotary Club, quickly raised $12,000 from fellow District 5100 clubs to fund 60 oxygen concentrators. These devices were purchased and distributed by the Kathmandu, Nepal Club who has a close relationship with the Newberg one.

Fundraiser for The Rotary Foundation
The promotion on behalf of The Rotary Foundation in June was very successful. 14 members participated and $6,800 contributed raised member contributions to TRF's annual fund in the 2020-21 year to $17,400. This level of giving is well above the prior year and exceeded the $16,000 5-year average of support. Remember these TRF contributions are from individual members as the club's budget does not include TRF.
