The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

  • FIRST. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
  • SECOND. High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
  • THIRD. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life;
  • FOURTH. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

There are 1.2 million Rotarians in 34,000 clubs throughout the world. Lake Oswego Club has 145 members. The club was founded in 1958.

Rotary Dues

  • The Dues are $275.00 no matter when you join.  If you join in the spring, they are then prorated the next year that starts July 1. 
  • A new member has to pay when joining a fee of $425.00, $275.00 for dues, $100 Foundation (Red Wings), $50 initiation fee.
  • They pay this the day they receive their Red Badge and are inducted into the Club
  • Spousal discount; 50% on dues only
  • Lunches are $20.00,  coffee is $6.00
