Tomorrow's Meeting
Mark Trout is our program chairman this month, and he's got a winner for this week's program. This week he's invited MHS Head Basketball Coach Ben Lindsey to come speak to us.

Coach Lindsey just completed his 3rd season as head coach of the MHS Men’s Basketball team. Already, he’s racked up a win loss record of 77-1 and two state championships. We’re not sure if that’s a school record but it sure is impressive.

Before Magnolia Lindsey spent seven seasons as the head basketball coach of Paragould High School where he compiled an 89-86 overall record. Lindsey’s best season at Paragould was in 2016, when the Rams were 20-6 overall and 11-3 in conference before falling in the first round of the Class 5A state tournament – to Magnolia.

Lindsey is a Magnolia High graduate and played basketball at Southern Arkansas University from 2000-2002. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree at University of Central Arkansas in 2005 and earned his master’s in education at University of Missouri in 2007 during his time there as coordinator of basketball operations.

During his five years with the University of Missouri men’s basketball program under former Tigers’ and later Arkansas coach Mike Anderson, the team set the school record for wins with a 31-7 record in 2009. They also won the Big 12 championship and made it to the second round of the NCAA tournament. He also assisted with the University of Alabama-Birmingham team that went to the NCAA tournament in 2006.

Russian invasion of Ukraine: Rotary's Response and Humanitarian Relief

As one of the world’s largest humanitarian organizations, Rotary has made peace the cornerstone of our global mission. We are deeply concerned about the Ukraine crisis and need your help.

Rotary is made up of people of action, especially in difficult times. In response to the deepening refugee crisis, The Rotary Foundation Trustees have decided to prioritize contributions made to the Disaster Response Fund until 30 April 2022 to support disaster response grants for districts affected by these events. These expedited disaster response grants can be used to supply water, food, medicine, shelter, and clothing.

Over 2 million people have fled Ukraine and are in dire need of emergency aid. The United Nations estimates that number of refugees could grow to as many as 5 million people displaced. Rotary clubs in Europe and around the world have stepped up their relief work, some working on the ground to help displaced families.

With your donation to our Disaster Response Fund, we can support communities and help rebuild lives during this tragic time.

Pancake Breakfast

With the pancake breakfast just around the corner (March 26 @ 6:00AM) we're in need of volunteers. We'll have a sign-up sheet at the meeting but you can also sign up at the following link:
